Dirty Detective Work in Kabukicho Sherlock

Set in modern day Kabukicho in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, Kabukicho Sherlock follows the comedic, mysterious, and dramatic adventures of a ragtag band of detectives as they live together in a tenement above Mrs. Hudson’s bar in the red light district and attempt to solve an unusual string of killings known as the “Jack the Ripper Murders”.

A new character preview video has been published for Kabukicho Sherlock, an upcoming TV anime that re-imagines characters from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic detective novels as modern day private eyes who haunt the shady areas of Tokyo’s nightlife district, and this time its from the perspective of Fuyuto Kyogoku, a detective with aristocratic affectations.

Kabukicho Sherlock is directed by Ai Yoshimura and features animation production by Production I.G. The series will broadcast in Japan on Fridays during the 25:55 time slot (actually at 1:55am JST on Saturday morning) as part of the Mainichi Broadcasting System / Tokyo Broadcasting System “Animeism” programming block beginning on October 11, 2019.
