Six-part film series Mobile Suit Gundam: THE ORIGIN is currently in the process of becoming a TV anime. The films, released from 2015-2018, will be edited into a 13-episode TV run. Rock band LUNA SEA will be returning to perform a new theme for the re-cut series, titled “Sora no Uta ~Higher and Higher~.”Based on the manga of the same name by original series character designer Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, Mobile Suit Gundam: THE ORIGIN retells the story depicted in the original 1979 anime series. In particular, it focuses in on Char Aznable and his sister.
The TV cut of Mobile Suit Gundam: THE ORIGIN begins airing on April 29, in honor of the 40th anniversary of Gundam.
