Eventually every console of the past will be available in compact plug-and-play form. The Genesis Mini isn’t even out yet and we have another on the horizon, and this time it’s Konami coming through with the TurboGrafx-16 Mini. There’s no price or release date yet, but in addition to the North American TurboGrafx-16 Mini there will be a PC Engine Mini in Japan and a PC Engine CoreGrafx Mini in Europe.
All the games have yet to be revealed, but here’s what we can expect in the western versions as of the announcement:
- Alien Crush
- Dungeon Explorer
- New Adventure Island
- Ninja Spirit
- R-Type
- Ys Book I & II
Japan gets the following thus far:
- Bonk
- Castlevania: Rondo of Blood
- China Warrior
- Dungeon Explorer
- Super Star Soldier
- Ys Book I & II
PC Engine originally launched in Japan back in 1987 and made its way to the U.S. as TurboGrafx-16 in 1989. While it didn’t quite set the world on fire in the states at the time, it was a hit in Japan and has a solid collection of games that could totally fill out a mini console with ease.
