Director Yasuhiro Irie is known for his work on the Fullmetal Alchemist franchise, from handling OPs for the first anime to directing Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and its OVA. Next up from the director is an original anime series called Eden, which is set to stream exclusively on Netflix in 2020.
In addition to direction by Irie, Eden is produced by Justin Leach, with Toshihiro Kawamoto and Christophe Ferreira on character and lead concept designs. Kimiko Ueno handles the script, Clover Xie is working as background art director, and Kevin Penkin is the anime’s composer.
Qubic Pictures and CGCG are handling production for the four-episode series.
Description:
The upcoming sci-fi fantasy series Eden is set thousands of years in the future, where a city known as “Eden 3” is inhabited solely by robots whose former masters vanished a long time ago. On a routine assignment, two farming robots accidentally awaken a human baby girl from stasis questioning all they were taught to believe — that humans were nothing more than a forbidden ancient myth. Together, the two robots secretly raise the child in a safe haven outside Eden.
